Riverhouse at Battery Park, New York CityBelden Brick Sales and Service has recently completed supplying materials for the newest addition to the all-green residential district, Battery Park City. Riverhouse at Battery Park City is to this point the largest LEED Platinum residential project built in the city of New York. A custom blend of Belden 470-479 Medium and Dark range was selected by Polshek Partnership Architects, of New York City, as the primary cladding that works in conjunction with large massing of glass. An astounding thirty different special shapes were included in the design of the exterior brick mass to accommodate the triangular building site. A sweeping curved wall of brick and glass fronts the shoreline of the Hudson River, while another wing and central tower front the main street that runs through the Battery Park mixed-use residential district. As all new buildings in the district are zoned for LEED compliance, The Belden Brick Company 470-479 was selected for its inherent beauty and to maximize LEED points awarded for green building compliance.
